Join us for our August Cluster Connect event!

Cluster Connect is your opportunity to catch up with members, hear the latest news, promote developments and network with your target audience.

This free, monthly meeting brings together members and offers the opportunity to make introductions, develop connections and gain support and inspiration from industry colleagues, along with helping to raise your personal and business profile.

Our August event is hosted by Member Hartlepool College of Further Education and will also offer a tour of their Skills Academy

This month we hear from four member businesses:

Hartlepool College of FE – the college has been providing excellence in further and higher education in to transform students’ lives since 1849. An active member of NEPIC, the college supports many of our members already with their training provision. Hear from the college on updates for their future, how to engage with the college to support your succession plan and how as an employer you engage more with the college.

ECITB – The Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB) is the employer-led skills, standards and qualifications body for the development of the engineering construction workforce of Great Britain. Currently engaging with NEPIC Members hear from them about their framework to power the skills base of the industrial cluster regions (the North West,Teesside and the Humber)through targeted ECITB product provision which is pioneering effective entry pathways into industry.

Altrad – work across a diverse range of industry sectors – providing value to their clients at every stage of the asset life cycle. They work in some of the most challenging and hazardous environments, supporting our nation’s vital assets, to deliver the critical services upon which our modern, daily lives rely. Altrad has evolved over the last 30 years, adding a multitude of key industrial support services to its roster including welding, fabrication, access and insulation. Altrad and ECITB will be talking about their collaboration over the last 12months to create pathways for entry into our Industry such as the training and skills required pre-employment and more as they work together to address skills gaps.

PJD Engineering – have been instrumental in the maintenance and life extension of the majority of the UK’s fossil fuel power generation fleet and have played a significant role in the evolution and maintenance of the country’s growing Biomass and Energy from Waste fleet. Now with a skills and training arm linked to their business ACTTnow – the business is well placed to support itself as it grows as well as supporting others too.

NEPIC are committed to supporting our Industry and Members by providing platforms for insightful discussions around the challenges we are facing such as Skills.

Competition Law Statement

Trade association meetings have, in the past, been used as a forum for the establishment of cartels and they are therefore the subject of scrutiny by the UK Competition and Markets Authority.

For the purposes of remaining compliant with competition law, members should not discuss commercially sensitive strategic information (including but not limited to, details of proposed or actual pricing, information about target or key customers or expansion plans) in or around NEPIC meetings, including at unofficial get-togethers or over coffee/lunch.
