EDF Energy is the UK’s largest producer of low-carbon electricity, the biggest supplier of electricity by volume in Great Britain and the largest supplier to British businesses. It employs around 13,000 people across the country and operates nuclear and renewable sites in the North East.
Around 750 staff are employed at the nuclear power station near Hartlepool, on the north east coast of England. It is capable of supplying electricity to around two million UK homes and in 2018 avoided 2.83m tonnes of CO2 emissions. This is the equivalent of taking 1.28m cars off UK roads for a year.
