Following the Government consultation, the Chancellor has announced the rate and scope on which the new Apprenticeship Levy, due to be introduced in 2017, will be collected.
The rate has been set at 0.5% of employer pay bill, will only affect employers with a pay bill in excess of £3m and will be collected via PAYE.
A new body will be established, independent of Government and supported by employers, to regulate the quality of apprenticeships within the context of achieving three million starts by 2020.
