Read more >Between 1 June and 31 July 2021, the UK invited those based in the UK and Crown Dependencies to apply for duty suspensions. The window for applications has now closed, but you will have the chance to apply during subsequent application processes from 2022 onwards.
Duty suspensions are temporary reductions in the standard Most Favoured Nation (UK Global Tariff) rate for certain products. They are designed to allow UK and Crown Dependency businesses, and in particular manufacturers, to remain competitive in the global marketplace.
A notice of the applications made has now been published on GOV.UK. You can object to any requests made using the objection form included on the webpage. You can submit an objection until 11.55pm on 24 September 2021.
When completing the form, you should set out the reasons why you wish to object, including by referring to the assessment criteria on GOV.UK where applicable.
If you have any questions about the objections process, please contact: TariffSuspensions@trade.gov.uk.
