Join us on the 15th of February, at the wonderful Catalyst building at the centre of Newcastle Upon Tyne, for an evening exploring the role of horizon scanning in healthcare. You’ll have a chance to chat with some of the leading minds in horizon scanning research about how and why we horizon scan for medical innovations, as well as guests from industry to discuss how our research can and has supported them.
What is Horizon Scanning?
Horizon scanning is the process by which we identify and track upcoming medical innovations (for example, new medicines, new diagnostic tools, new digital devices to monitor health data) that are currently being developed. This information can be very important and useful for a lot of people, from facilitating national decision makers to decide which innovations to adopt into the NHS as soon as possible to increase patient access, to identifying areas of health that are not currently seeing a lot of development to inform funding decisions and research questions.
