ATEX Junction Boxes For Hazardous Area Lighting & Power Systems
Thorne & Derrick, the UK Distributor for Marechal Electric, are pleased to announce the launch of a range of ATEX junction boxes to provide LV low voltage power distribution to ATEX lighting systems or other electrical equipment located in hazardous areas.
The Marechal B2X junction boxes are pre-equipped with terminals and cable entries: this configuration allows a short delivery time of the junction boxes.
These GRP junction boxes are designed to facilitate the electrical connection in potentially explosive atmospheres – the electrical enclosures are intended to be used in hazardous area Zone 1 & 2 (Gas) and Zone 21 & 22 (Dusts) with Increased Safety or Intrinsically Safe type concepts of explosion protection.
The Marechal B2X range is also ideal for harsh environment (corrosive and polluted) applications. Equipped with Ex e certified terminal blocks for connection of flexible or stranded conductors with 0.22sqmm to 16sqmm section.

Two versions are available: reinforced cable (metal) or unarmoured cable (glass-fibre reinforced polyester). About thirty configurations are available.
The B2X enclosure manufactured by Marechal is made from GRP: this solid material allows the product to withstand harsh and hazardous environments.
In addition, the enclosures are certified to IP66/IP67, which means that it is dustproof and resistant to strong water jets as well as temporary immersion to a depth of one meter.
Finally, it can withstand temperatures ranging from -40°C to +60°C.
