Cambridge Research Biochemicals® Launches New Discovery Peptides® Catalogue to the Life Science Community

Billingham, UK, 16th August 2016 / Sciad Newswire / Cambridge Research Biochemicals® (CRB), a British company specialising in custom peptides and bespoke antibodies for the Pharmaceutical industry and for medical research, today announced the release of its new Discovery Peptides® catalogue.

Having delighted customers with the highest quality peptides and antibodies during its 35 years of expertise in the life science industry, CRB, which is based in the North East of England in Billingham on Teesside, has announced the revival of its peptide catalogue. This catalogue was first established in 1984 but sold in 1994 to focus entirely on custom research tools. The new product range will offer the same top quality peptides that CRB is famed for and features popular sequences relevant to numerous disease areas. CRB’s customers have also offered suggestions of sequences they would like to see in the catalogue.

The Discovery Peptides® brand name is taken from HMS Discovery, captained by Middlesbrough born James Cook, an 18th century explorer and navigator whose achievements in mapping New Zealand, the Pacific, and Australia dramatically changed western perceptions of world geography. The word Discovery is also inherent to CRB’s portfolio of custom research tools which facilitate scientific discoveries, developments and innovations across the globe. The associations with Cook’s birthplace, which is situated less than 7 miles from CRB’s Billingham base, also adds a more personal touch.

Since CRB expanded and relocated to its brand new state-of-the-art facility in January 2014, the capacity for production has dramatically increased, meaning that the custom side of CRB’s business will continue whilst the new catalogue takes shape. As CRB has previous experience in catalogue peptides and has stocked a range of ‘off the shelf’ solutions for many years, the progression has been a smooth and exciting experience.

In addition to the brand new Discovery Peptides® website, complete with e-commerce functionalities, detailed product descriptions and comprehensive analytical data, CRB is also having its existing website redesigned to improve usability and impart a more modern look and feel. To complement the peptide catalogue venture, CRB is also shortly launching Discovery Antibodies®, the antibody counterpart to Discovery Peptides®. The site will feature a selection of extremely well characterised popular antibodies raised against the highest purity peptide antigens, synthesised and conjugated at CRB.
