This week is National Apprenticeship Week when we celebrate apprenticeships across the UK.
The week gives us a chance to put the spotlight on apprenticeships, how they can support young people`s first career steps by learning new skills and gaining real-life experiences.
The programmes provide a cost-effective opportunity for companies to train young talent and provide them with the knowledge they will need in the future.
Some of our engineers started as apprentices years ago. By learning the profession inside out, they have gone on to have successful careers at ITS.
ITS is very proud to be known for its strong commitment to guiding talented young people. As an engineering company, we strongly believe that it is our responsibility to support young engineers as they begin their careers.
We always keep one eye fixed firmly on the future, and this forward-thinking approach continues by appointing George Ritchie MBE, who chairs the NEAAN (North East Apprenticeship Ambassador Network), as a non-executive director of ITS.
Many years ago, ITS paved the way with an apprenticeship programme, and the company is committed to sustaining it, providing opportunities for the younger generation of engineers.
