Helen has sat on our board since 2022 and has had an extensive career throughout the North East.

Previously, she was the Business Solutions Director at the Tees Valley Combined Authority, where her remit covered business support and investment for businesses of all sizes and sectors, as well as the development of education, employment and skills, Net Zero, and the creative place agenda across the Tees Valley.  Helen also worked around the country in a range of roles covering IT, facilities management, planning, housing, economic development, customer services, and criminal justice reform in both local and central government.

Her earlier experience was gained in engineering and marketing in the private sector, including as a process control engineer at British Steel on Teesside. Helen is a chartered engineer and member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).
