Meet the Members 2019 | Conference Speaker Announcement

We are thrilled to announce the industry leading speakers joining us at our annual Members Conference & Expo on June 19th, 2019.

Influential speakers from global companies will be taking to the stage to present process industry investment highlights, and showcase potential business growth and supply chain opportunities.

Confirmed speakers to-date include world class companies such as Sirius Minerals, global chemical firm Venator, consumer goods corporation P&G, Britain’s largest nuclear power station operator Sellafield Ltd and biotech giant FUJIFILM Diosynth.

The Chemistry Council and Tees Valley Combined Authority will provide national and regional growth strategy updates – highlighting the importance of innovation-based growth and the business opportunities they present. We will also hear from the recently launched Supply Chain North East programme who are supporting local SME’s looking to diversify and unlock new markets.

Speaker Highlights

  • Sellafield is the UK’s most complex nuclear site and we are delighted to be accompanied by Head of Supply Chain Development and Innovation, Sarah-Jane Gooch, who will explain why they are transforming the way they work with the supply chain.
  • Wynyard based Venator operates 24 facilities worldwide and spends £13 million a year on projects, utilising local suppliers where possible.
  • Innovation is at the heart of the Chemistry Council’s new strategy. We’re thrilled to be joined by P&G Associate Director, Phil Souter, who will outline the strategy and share with us his expert knowledge on innovation-based growth.
  • In 2018, FUJIFILM Diosynth announced plans for a £14.5 million BioCampus project at its site in Billingham. The BioCampus project is expected to create additional high-value jobs and add £4 million per year to the regional economy.
  • The launch of tunnel-boring machine in April 2019 was yet another important step towards Sirius Minerals’ vision of building a $5bn fertiliser mine and becoming a world-leading producer of polyhalite. Duncan Smith, Area Director for the Wilton-based operations, will join us and offer a project update as the firm enters the next stage of their development plans.

Providing you with an abundance of knowledge and expertise, Meet the Members really is a fantastic opportunity for you to hear from market leading chemical and process innovation companies who are shaping the region’s future.

This event also offers key learning including understanding complex procurement processes and identifying potential opportunities for growth and diversification, while developing your network and contacts in between conference sessions!
