These have shown that polyhalite increases crop yields by an average of 3-5% over standard practices and supports soil health. Woodsmith will have an impact on a national scale, adding £1.5bn per year to UK GDP and turning the UK into the world's fifth largest fertiliser producing company. The majority of polyhalite products will be exported, with distribution agreements already in place with major global agribusinesses for key markets including Europe, North and South America, China, India and South-East Asia. Woodsmith will also serve the UK market, increasing food security and productivity in the food and farming sector and securing a supply of essential crop nutrients.
