Building Stronger Durham Communities – Thorne & Derrick & Point North

In the first half of 2025, Point North UK Community Foundations, with funding support from Thorne & Derrick, has partnered with 15 incredible organisations across County Durham – each driving positive change through sport, wellbeing, cultural enrichment, and vital community services.

At Thorne & Derrick, we’re proud to support Point North in their mission to:

✅ Strengthen neighbourhoods and community spaces
✅ Empower young people with opportunities to thrive
✅ Promote wellbeing across generations
✅ Celebrate the local culture that connects us all

From youth development programmes to support for older generations and local arts festivals, these projects are making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

Some of the inspiring initiatives supported include:

⚽ Darlington FC Foundation – Think With Your Feet (ages 19–25)
🏏 Consett & District Cricket Club – Sightscreens for junior players
🧠 Wellbeing 4 Men CIC – Education for boys & young men
🌱 The Allotment Project CIC – Growing Together for adults
🎭 Durham Fringe Festival – Supporting arts & culture for all ages
