As an Innovation Manager in bioprocessing, my role involves building collaborations, identifying opportunities, and assisting NEPIC members in the bioprocessing sector.
My role is funded by Tees Valley Combined Authority and the European Regional Development Fund. I am also associated with Teesside University, as part of a Growth Associate Program. Before beginning this role, I completed an MBio degree in biochemistry at the University of Warwick, an integrated MSc and PhD in Bioenergy at the University of Leeds and a post-doc at the University of Leeds. I have research experience across bioprocessing, with a focus on valorising lignocellulose, but I also have experience in fields outside of this such as e-waste processing, biochar characterisation and analytical chemistry.
I am looking forward to working with companies in the bioprocessing sector. Equally, I aim to support the uptake of biotechnological processes in the chemical industry and bring jobs, growth, and investment to the North East.
