Undergraduate Vacation Studentship Scheme
About the PINZ CDT
The EPSRC Centre PINZ CDT is a collaboration between the Process Intensification Group at Newcastle University and the Green Chemistry Centre of Excellence at the University of York focusing on three key research themes: Energy, Feedstocks and Data.
Why Participate in the Vacation Studentship Scheme?
This fully funded scheme is a perfect opportunity to work with academia for 6-8 weeks investigating a challenge area for your business. Project ideas will be co-created with relevant experts at Newcastle University or the University of York, and research will be carried out by a selected undergraduate student. The studentship scheme is an ideal opportunity to carry out some initial ‘proof of concept’ work which could lead on to a full PhD project with the PINZ CDT.
Company Requirements
Organisations will be required to dedicate staff time to attend meetings, develop project ideas and provide data and materials. There is no financial commitment required from the participating organisation – the student will be funded via the academic institution.
Applications
In order to advertise the project to prospective students, a brief project description is required, to be co-created with the academic supervisory team. Please get in touch with either pinzcdt@newcastle.ac.uk or ryan.siddall1@newcastle.ac.uk to express your interest by the 7th March 2025 and we will arrange a follow up discussion.
