The new regional base located in Middlesbrough will support growth plans for the North East, building on a succession of recent contract wins for Bilfinger UK, including a £50 million contract with SABIC secured in 2019 to deliver engineering and maintenance services at its sites in Teesside.
“This is an exciting chapter for Bilfinger UK and the North East, and will give us the platform to grow our multi-disciplinary design, engineering and automation footprint in Teesside to support current and future customers in addition to our existing maintenance, project and turnaround work streams.
“This modern new workspace will house a combination of senior management, functional support and design staff, offering a more agile working environment with a variety of workspaces and breakout areas for staff to interact, as well as providing an improved visitor experience for customers.”
Regional clients whose contracts will be managed from the new Middlesbrough office include CF Fertilisers, Ineos Acetyls, Ineos Oxides, Fujifilm Diosynth, Saltend Chemicals Park Ltd. and Nippon Gohsei. Bilfinger UK is also in the process of setting up a new fabrication facility in Humberside which is set to open in Q2 2021.
The business says the two new premises will provide the perfect infrastructure to support growth in Humberside, Teesside and the wider Eastern region.
“The opening of our new North East office is a key strategic milestone for the business that will enable us to support and develop our existing North East relationships and build new partnerships for the future.
“This investment in Teesside underpins our commitment to growing our footprint within the region across all of our core disciplines.
“We know that the North East has a proud reputation for engineering excellence and we look forward to continuing to work closely with our partners as the local economy recovers after the impacts of the pandemic.”
