Industry and university collaboration dates backs to the 1970s. These mutually beneficial partnerships can produce ground-breaking research and innovation that solves complex problems, drives economic growth, and creates a more skilled workforce.

Join us on Thursday 14 February at this unique event that will bring industry together with six Universities to showcase process sector innovation and expertise to facilitate important academic-industrial collaboration. Participating universities include Durham, Newcastle, Northumbria University, Queen’s Belfast, Teesside and Bradford.

Over 75, five-minute pitches showcasing outstanding talent, specialist science and collaboration potential will be delivered by PhD Students and academics from universities covering six themes for guests to choose from including:

  • Chemistry 
  • Biotechnology
  • Pharmaceutics
  • Process Engineering
  • IT for Manufacturing
  • Energy

These sessions will not only enable your business to find new technology to license but also highlight young researchers with process industry expertise.

What is on Offer?

  • Event elements
    This event will include pre-selected pitches, industry-university introductions, poster displays and facility tours and networking.
  • Pre-selected pitches
    The first pre-selected pitching sessions start at 11.00, followed by a networking lunch before moving on to a second pitching session at 13.00. Delegates will be asked to select one theme from the morning session and another from the afternoon session. Each session will comprise of up to 12 pitches lasting 5-minutes and run without interval. Unfortunately, there will not be an opportunity to change room during your chosen session.

  • Car parking
    By train: The Curve is within walking distance (approx. 10 minutes) from Middlesbrough Railway Station (see map).
    By car: There is no parking at Teesside University. A public car park is located at The Cleveland Centre or on street parking is available in the surrounding area (see Teesside University website).
