NEPIC ANNOUNCES CHIEF EXECUTIVE APPOINTMENT

Regional industry cluster NEPIC announces the appointment of Philip Aldridge as Chief Executive Officer

The NEPIC Board is delighted to announce that Philip Aldridge has been appointed Chief Executive Officer. Philip will take up his role with immediate effect, succeeding Iain Wright who announced his departure in April.

Philip has worked for NEPIC for the past 6 years, helping deliver ERDF projects and serving its pharmaceutical members. Before joining the cluster in 2012, Philip worked at the Centre of Excellence in Life Sciences and within several business development roles at local SMEs.

Prior to his business support positions, Philip held technical management roles within GSK in the UK and US. With extensive pharmaceutical process development and manufacturing experience in the fields of antibiotics and biopharmaceuticals, Philip holds a first degree in Biochemistry, a masters in Biochemical Engineering and is a member of the Institution of Chemical Engineers.

Chairman of NEPIC and px CEO, Mark Kenrick, commented:

“Philip was an ideal choice to lead NEPIC from a number of very strong internal candidates who had impressed the selection panel with their energy, commitment and ideas. The Board is confident that Philip and the team will deliver a sustainable future for the cluster where it needs to be, that is at the heart of Northern England’s chemical-using industry strategy and execution.”

Commenting on his appointment, Philip said:

“I feel privileged and excited to be offered this leadership position within NEPIC. I am looking forward to working with the team, NEPIC members and the board to strengthen further the process sector in the region.”

NEPIC is a membership organisation that represents the chemistry-using industries in North East England. Led by industry, the firm works with its member companies to provide a collaborative environment that supports the growth of businesses, sector and region.
