Hertel wins new contract at Ensus refinery
Industrial services company Hertel has started 2010 strongly after winning the maintenance contract at the Ensus Group’s new wheat refinery at Wilton on Teesside.
The new 12 month contract covers a range of maintenance services including insulation, scaffolding and painting as well as electrical and mechanical activities.
Ian Dalgarno, regional director of Hertel, said: “We are delighted at being awarded the contract by Ensus. Hertel has extensive experience of working on similar sites and the new contract helps to secure jobs in Teesside.”
The refinery will use locally grown animal feed wheat to produce over 400 million litres of bioethanol, 350 thousand tonnes of high protein animal feed, and 300 thousand tonnes of carbon dioxide for use in soft drinks and food production each year. Power will be supplied by a combined heat and power plant with surplus electricity used by other plants on the Wilton site.
Ian adds: “We are seeing a general improvement in the business environment. Currently, Hertel is in discussions with other companies on Teeside about providing maintenance services and if successful would further strengthen Hertel’s position at Wilton.”
