REAL LIFE PROBLEM SOLVING

Target Group: Year 12 Students
Charge: £25 per student

This event is organised annually for Year 12 students in the Region who are interested in or pursuing a science course.

The SEU works in partnership with local universities and companies to devise a problem for the students to solve. The industry related exercise is set in a real life context and ‘experts’ from the company share the way(s) they actually solved the problem after the students have presented their case to a Board of Directors.
Mentors recruited from industry perform an extremely valuable role in the way they support and help the students as required. They also act as the ‘Board of Directors’.

Where possible a site visit is included in the programme and all participants are expected to complete an evaluation form.
