NEPIC Science Education Unit

LIFE SCIENCES UNIT

Aimed at primary schools this is a well-resourced unit with excellent facilities. Children are able to experience a wide range of interactive activities many of which can be taken into the school. This mobile facility is taken to the schools premises to allow maximum participation by the pupils.

The unit was originally built by BASF Seal Sands who now co-sponsor the activity along with several other local companies. Pupils are able to use equipment perhaps not usually available to them. The unit gives the opportunity to learn in an unusual environment outside of the classroom while remaining accessible to the school premises. The skeleton and abdominal model along with the other activities are certain to generate many questions and discussion topics with the pupils and teachers alike.

Learning topics range from the Human Body, Wildlife and the Environment, Light/Colour and Electric Circuits. Teachers will receive training prior to the arrival of the unit and the user manuals containing full usage and safety guides through to photo-copiable activity sheets for the pupils, which can also be referred to after the booking of the unit is completed.
